Calvary Cathedral is excited to offer two youth programs
for the tweens and teens of our parish. Youth groups meet on Wednesday evenings
from 6-8:30. The evening starts with a joint pot luck dinner and the kids break
out into groups based on age. The groups reconvene and the evening ends with
Compline.
The Middle School Youth group (6th,
7th and 8th graders) are led by Deacon Judy Graves and
David Trefz. We will be using the Rite 13 program with the Middle School, which
is an opportunity to explore their faith more deeply. Some exciting events for
the Youth this fall are the CROP walk, the Third World Dinner, and a Rite 13
liturgy. The Middle Schoolers also have a chance to go to the corn maze, host
movie nights and work on service projects.
The High School Youth-the Underground-will be using the
Journey to Adulthood program. It is a great time for fellowship, faith sharing
and fun! Some of the great events planned for the Fall include a youth liturgy,
service projects, fun nights out and some deeper explorations into identity,
careers and vocations.
There will also be opportunities for both the Middle
School and the Underground to meet and mingle with students from the other
Episcopal churches in Sioux
Falls as well as with other denominations, because
we are all body because we share one bread,
one cup.
