Children's and youth Sunday school programs are offered each Sunday from Sept 19th through the Sunday before Memorial Day.

The children have become more visible due to a change in the Sunday school schedule.  Now all children through 8th grade leave the service either after the peace or after communion and head to their classes.  Those serving as acolytes and/or in high school depart after the service for their sessions.  Then all the children and youth join the adults at about 11:30 am, during the coffee hour following the 10:00 am service.

Our classes are nursery/preschool/kindergarten, led by Melanie Hamerly and Dolly Stinger.  The children are welcome to come as early as the start of the 10:00 am service and stay through 11:35am.  This group meets in the nursesry, across from the elevator on the lower level.

The 1st-3rd grade class is lead by Patrice Roth and Miranda Marks.  These groups use the Episcopal Children's Curriculum (ECC), which follows the church year in the content of the lessons.  The emphasis this year is on the Baptismal Covenant.  Please ask the children about what they are learning.  They meet in the East Sunday school room.

The 4th-6th grade class uses the Living the Good News lectionary study cirriculum.  This builds on the ECC and takes students deeper into the readings for each Sunday.  Under the leadership of Lynn Fjellanger and helpers, this group will learn much about their faith and practice.  This group meets in the west Sunday school room.

Students in 7th and 8th grade are enrolled in the confirmation class to learn more about living out of the promises made for them at baptism.  The course, "I Will, With God's Help" is taught by Thomas Taylor and Holly Huisken.  This group meets in the library.

High school youth meet in their youth room for discussion about the week's events and lessons.  Often this time will be used as a follow-up to the Journey to Adulthood activities on Wednesday evenings.  Sherwin Gilbert and RiAnna Rothenberger, students from the University of Sioux Falls, lead the group, with volunteers David Trefz and Nathalie Urinko.

Youth groups are part of Christian educataion and parents and leaders are excited about a return to the Journey to Adulthood curriculum.  Both the middle school and high school groups will use this program, with different components designed for each age group.  All youth are invited to attend Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00pm.

The adult lectionary study continues to meet at 9:00am, under the very erudite and able leadership of Robin rieper.  This group meets in the Diocesan Conference Room and is highly recommended by those who attend.  You may join the class at any time.
