Okiciyapi means “helping one another” and is meant to bring Native families together with people who have skills in singing, beading, the drum, making regalia, etc. It is a way to help youth learn their cultural ways. Thus it was originally organized for Lakota/Dakota youth, but has always been open to anyone interested in attending.
Okiciyapi meets from 6:30-8:00 p.m. each Wednesday in the dining room of Calvary Cathedral. It is a joint ministry of Calvary Cathedral and American Indian Services. For more information, contact Marilyn at 334-4060 or at their website.
