This week's top story 37,000 come back to church Back to Church Sunday organizers enjoyed a special thank you party at Lambeth Palace on Thursday as records revealed a record 37,000 people returned to church for the event. On September 28, Christians from Churches Together in Scotland, the Church in Wales, Baptist, Methodist, United Reformed and Elim Pentecostal churches, extended VIP invitations to people who no longer attended church. In the 38 Church of England dioceses involved, more than 31,000 people came back.
