The Cathedral Foundation Mission:
To strengthen the ongoing work of Calvary Cathedral by receiving, protecting and prudently managing permanent endowment gifts for the Cathedral's benefit.
The Foundation:
Calvary Episcopal Church Foundation is an independent charitable organization operating exclusively for the benefit of Calvary Episcopal Cathedral. Contributions can be made to any or all of the three permanent endowment funds:
- Building and Grounds
- Music
- Ministry, Outreach and Education
Making a gift to Calvary's permanent endowment is a vital form of stewardship and a legacy to future Cathedral generations. Each of us has special concerns in life and special causes near to our hearts. Selecting the good work we wish to continue beyond our lifetime is another joy given us by God. A separate foundation to receive endowment gifts allows the Vestry to assure every donor making a permanent charitable contribution that their gift will last in perpetuity.
All money contributed to the endowment funds is invested; the investment income accumulates generating interest income which is available to the Vestry to be spent according to each fund's focus. The gifts themselves are never spent and grow over time.
How to give:
The foundation is a public charity and all contributions are tax-deductible. Gifts of all kinds are welcome: current cash gifts, planned gifts scheduled for the future as a part of an estate plan, life insurance, stocks, bonds, real estate and personal property.
Please contact the Cathedral office and we will be glad to answer your questions or those of your tax advisor.
