• Just the facts, please.... Seventy volunteers logged over 900 hours pricing, packing, displaying, welcoming, selling and cleaning up after the sale.  At least 400 community friends took advantage of the great values.  More than $5,500 of income will support parish projects.
• Final inventory gifts... Winter coats and sweaters were donated to the Whittier Middle School "Kids Closet".  Volunteers of America (VOA) received adult winter coats and sweaters for their homeless outreach.  Old tables and shelving were also donated to VOA for their thrift center and job-training site.  The Salvation Army loaded a moving truck with the remaining clothing and household goods.
• Pay it forward... A neighboring church purchased enough items to set up a household for a refugee family.  One woman planned to share her carload of purchases with a young, single mother of five.  Another woman who was sleeping in her car bought bedding and received information about community shelters.
• Now what... Volunteers, watch your mail for a date to celebrate the success.  AND, consider taking a LEADERSHIP role in this rewarding, Cathedral outreach ministry.  More information to come.

PLEASE DO NOT DROP OFF DONATIONS AT THE CATHEDRAL UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!  Either box and store items or donate to outreach programs such as Volunteers of America, Salvation Army, Y Advancement and others.
